Paruppu - Dal: Any kind of legume--beans, peas, or lentils
Dosai - Dosa: Crispy, crepe-like southern Indian specialty filled with potatoes or vegetables
Idli - Steam cooked cakes made of Rice flour & Black gram 

Nei - Ghee: Clarified butter
Morr - Lassi: A refreshing, creamy yogurt drink that can be plain, sweet or salty
Pakoda - Pakora: Fritter dipped in a spicy chickpea batter; can be made with vegetables
Appalam, Pappadum: Spicy lentil wafers
Poori: Airy, deep-fried bread
Rasam: A thin, spicy broth
Keerai Koottu - Saag: Spinach, but can also refer to other greens
Sambar: An extremely spicy thick liquid broth popular in southern India
Payasam - Made of Milk, Sugar & cooked rice - a sweet item

Kadambam - made of Mixed vegetable, cooked rice and spices.
