An Appeal

Mukkur Village in Thiruvannamalai district is famous and the birth place of two Sri Ahobila Muth’s  42^nd & 44^th Srimad Azhagiya Singars. 42^nd Azhagiya Singar though famous as Injemedu Azhagiya Singar, his place of birth and his poorvasrama in laws were resident of Mukkur.

Srimad 44^th Azhagiya Singar’s birth place is Mukkur and after he has become Peettathipathi, he stayed at Mukkur for several years before moving to Srirangam. Sri Ramar Sannadhi was an old temple at Mukkur and Srimad Mukkur Azhagiya Singar has constructed  Sri Perundevi Nayika Samathe Sri Varadaraja Swami Temple about 50 years back.  Now the present Srimad Azhagiya Singar desires that there should be  enough resources to run the Temple with the help of local residents and well wishers for very many years.

Mukkur is also famous for Sri Anjanesya Swami (Sanjeevarayayar) Sannadhi situated near the temple. Sri Sanjeevarayyar is Swayambhu and has come in dreams of many people and fulfilled their wishes.  Lot of devotees are visiting Mukkur to pray for child birth and offering and tieing bells on the doors of Sanjivarayar Sannidhi.  Every week there is Thirumanjanam and Aaradhanai are performed at Sri Hanumar  Sannadhi at Mukkur for the past one year.

A need has arisen now, that the Temple has to be renovated, since the structure is in depleted condition and maintenance has become a problem. We from the village of Mukkur have requested Srimad Azhagiya Singar’s approval and obtained his blessing for renovation  and maintenance and  we estimate that it will cost Rs. 80 Lacs.  We appeal to all Sri Vaishnavites, Sri Sannadhi Sisyas, asthigas and general public to contribute to this project of Mukkur Temple Renovation and get the blessings of Sri Perundevi and Sri Varadaraja Perumal, Sri Rama and Srimad Azhagiya Singars.

We have applied for Income Tax Exemption under Scetion 80g. The contributions can be made in the name of Mukkur Varadharaja Perumal Ramanjaneyar Trust (REGN NUMBER: 102/ 2010 DTD. 17.2.2010 ) and mail to Shri R.G.
