Essence of Srivaishnavam Practices - True God, Vedic Reliance explained.

This article is in continuation of earlier discussions from previous page on Who is True God?!

NarayaNa Smrithi

The following are the text I received from my cousin Sri Arun Veeraraghavan on the controversies about the Religion & who is True God. After placing my part of reply to Mr. Elias D'costa, who started this conversation and discussion, he conveniently forgot to respond further; that too after I nailed him with his own Bible Quotes. Though, he failed to respond, many visitors find these discussions very interesting and sending my emails about the proper replies. Now, Sri Arun has sent in his response to further the discussion and anyone who is interested may join this and send an Email with their contentions.

The following is my response over the controversy in the religion section ,viz. contradictions in religion and about God.

330 Millions of gods does not refers to ParamAthma. Brahmam is the name used for the Independent existence. Spirit, Athma can then rightly be referred as Brahmam since it is existing Independently. We Jeevathmas and the Supremest of all, ParamAthma are equal in this dimension of spirit and not same. In other words the summation of all Jeevathmas can be taken as equal to ParamAthma. ParamAthma be then 330 millions? which is ridiculous. The reference of 330 millions is for devas or celestial beings. The wants can be classified as ordinary and extra-ordinary. The ordinary wants can be given by these 330 millions of gods themselves.

ishtAnbOgAnhi deva dasyanthE yagnabAvithAH  | dAirththAnapradhayaIbyo yo bunktE sthena ye va saH  ||- (Bagavth-Gita 3:12)

annAthbavanthi bOthAni parjanyAthannasambavaH, yagnyAth parjanyO yagnaH karmasamUthbavaH - (Bagavad-Gita 3:14)

From the above recitals from the Holy Bhagavad-Gita, we can confirm that satisfying out of yagas the wants of a human are supplied by the Devas.

Like poles repel and the unlike attract is well known. How then a positive charge of 'x' C is being attracted by another positive charge of (say) 1000 'x' C ?

Here I find the law is violated, like many persons finding Brahma as the true universal god. Will this befit ? These questions are not really meant to find the true universal god or the related, this is deliberately asked for having some other desired effect.

It is synonymous here to include the various Details regarding the spirit recited in Upanishads. The range of the Spirit is about 1/10000 times the tip of a grain particularly Paddy (Nel in Tamil). That spirit after the death of a body ascends up and rest in the clouds. It then descends down as water when the cloud rains. The rain water is consumed by the living beings, in this way it reaches the human blood and finally enter a new body.

Being in the New born body the spirit again starts to experience the effects of his past actions (in the past birth). Trigunas Viz. Sathva, Rajo, Thamo have their birth from Prakrthi. The guna which gains the maximum intensity over the other governs the body in which the spirit is living in. Thus the actions are governed by trigunas.

Every one which has the beginning and the end is called matter since it is perishable. Change is a sure sign of destruction. If there's a beginning there must be an end for that. In short every one, whichever subjects to time is perishable Thus Supremest of all being must be Ever-Existing.

The following is a speculation from Rig Veda about the universe.

The rough translation for the above Vedic Passage concerning the universe as follows:

"Then was not Non- existent nor existent: there was no realm of air, no sky beyond it". What covered in and where and what gave shelter? Was water there, unfathomed depth of water Death was not then, nor was there ought immortal: no sign was there, the day's and night's divider. That one thing breathless, breathed by its own nature; apart from it was nothing whatsoever. Darkness was there; at first concealed in darkness this all was indiscriminate chaos. All that existed then was void and formless; by the great power of warmth was born that unit".

Here I refer passages of Swami Vivekanada in his famous speech in Chicago:

The Vedas teach us that creation is without beginning or end. Science is said to have proved that the sum total of cosmic energy is always the same. Then, if there was a time when nothing existed, where was all this manifested energy? Some say it was in a potential form in God. In that case God is sometimes potential and sometimes kinetic, which would make Him mutable. Everything mutable is a compound and everything compound must undergo that change which is called destruction. So God would die, which is absurd- Therefore, there never was a time when there was no creation.

If I may be allowed to use a simile, creation and creator are two lines, without beginning and without end, zoning parallel to each other. God is the ever-active providence, by whose power systems after systems are being evolved out of chaos, made to run for a time, and again destroyed
Occurrences if usual are incidents while unusual are accidents. The usual unusualness and unusual usualness are then Incidental accident and accidental incident respectively. A thing or happening if within the limitations of Human Perception can be formulated by laws usually governed by science. In short whichever remains difficult to or outgoes the range of Human perception it is called as unusual by the humans.

This can be explained by the following widely unobserved observation:                                                                                                                                                                  Mars usually takes 1.5 months for passing through 30 degrees or a Zodiacal sign known as Rasi. Recently Mars stayed in Gemini (Mituna) from September 17, 2007 to April 28, 2008, about 6 months. What is the reason for this unusual uncertainty?

To wonder the simplest answer for this is Humans posses inability over perception if the degree of their perception level outgoes. Even if this unusual stay is predictable, can its periodicity or cyclicity and the related? Here the word used is inability and not disability. The concept widely accepted now, can be disproved later, this is happening through the ages and ages.

Astrologers quote that this unusual stay of Mars will favour those who remained un-favoured in the past (long period of time). And the political climate and its changes in and around India proves their assertion. Actually Mars governs the land, spouse, and the related disputes etc.

(A) Swami Vedanta Desikan in his famous grantha pAthukA sahasram in kAnchanapathathi had versed concerning the 7 grahAs and the two nodes viz rAghu and kEthu.

(B)Jyothisham is a part of veda

(C) In Mahabaratha when SahAdevA by his wider vision in jyothisha had given a day plotted for the Kauravas to wage a war against pAndavas for having sure victory (one among the Pandavas being sahadeva himself). And that day being Amavasya was cleverly obstructed by Lord Krishna.

(D) In the Valmiki Ramayana, the refences on Horoscope of Lord Shri rAma is described.                                                                                                                                          Where then the doubt, whether the Jyothisham is true or false? The concerned are not usual being, will they all lie? The thing is nowadays Jyothisham is being utilized by anti-ethical persons for money thereby cheating, without knowing the subject.

The following is the analysis of a great scholar, After hearing his discourse it is being represented by me.

tato raavaNaniitaayaaH siitaayaaH shatrukarshanaH |
iyeshha padamanveshhTuM chaaraNaacharite pathi || - Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara kantam, 1-1
tato raavaNaniitaayaaH - .can be splitted in two ways (1) Tatha raavaNaniitaayaaH (2) Tatha araavaNaniitaayaaH
If we use the first way then the meaning is Sita was taken by ravana which is impossible & incorrect. Thus by the second way the meaning goes as Sita had taken away Ravana which is correct. Why should Sita take away Ravana ? In order to save the women taken forcibly by Ravana is the answer.

Water is said to be the basic essential need for the living beings to live in the Old ages. But in science air or oxygen is quoted as the basic need for the same. The molecular formula for water is
H2O. Thus water is the most fittest answer since air or oxygen have place in water itself.

Do the duty, don't expect its fruit- does this means there should be no expectancy. Will any one act without any expectancy. Therefore the expectation here refers to Worldly affairs, mere illusion the don't. Thus the hidden meaning expectancy must be for the higher concerns, outgoing the earthly affairs.

Suppressing our ignorance and out of the fear of being defeated, criticisms can be made on the ancient practices, ethics, observations etc. The inability resides in us is the deviation from reality. The more we move towards unreality or illusion the more we get engulfed in the ignorance (illusion).

In the very similar way, we posses inability to describe or to percept the Supremest of all being the ParamAthma. Regarding births and deaths there exist lots of differerence between birth of a human and the Avatar of Lord God, some among them are

(1)  actions (karma) is out of subject for the Lord God

(2) His Avatar is out of his own wish

Below reference from pUrusha suktham clears us He is unbounded to ten Avatar,

" Prajapathis charathi garbhe antha, Aajayamano bahudha vijaayathe.

Tasya dheera parijananthi yonim. Mareechinaam padamicchanthi vedhasa."

And without being born, Appears in many forms. (kalki is the known pending avatar) In conclusion, 330 millions of gods even if worshipped, the credit goes to paramAthma who is the supreme of all being. That paramAthma can be rightfully called by a name we wish "Does the rose if called by the other name posses no fragrance?"

Let the Shaivaites see Him as Siva, the Vaishnavites as Narayana, the Buddhist as Buddha, and the Jains as Mahavir, and so on. What fault with that? The parallelism of the creator and the creation is like the parallelism between the mind and the matter. And the way how Trigunas work is also crystal clear. In this Holy Practice of Sanathana Dharma, every concepts have their own place. This is all and ever absorbing flood.
